My Trip to Chhatbir Zoo Zirakpur- Chandigarh- India

My Trip to Chhatbir Zoo Zirakpur– Chandigarh- India. It is not pre planned Trip. On Sunday, I And my family decided to go there. We are 5 members and a baby drive for Zirakpur Zoo and on around 11.00 am  we all are there.

I haven’t gone to a zoo in many years, so believe me when I reached there , I felt like a child going inside to experience my youth.

First of all we all pick our water bottles because here is too much heat outside in the month of may, and get parking ticket for car parking. Here is manual ticket counter and a que for tickets, que for security checking and finally we are in the Zirakpur Zoo.

Zirakpur Zoo timings:

9.00am. to 5.00pm (Tuesday to Sunday),

On Mondays Zoo is Closed.

Chhatbir Zoo Zirakpur entrance fee:

Free ticket for Children below 3 years

25 rupees for Children above 3 years

60 rupees for Adults

We were welcomed with greenery and sparkling pathways right away as we arrived at the zoo. Families, school groups, and nature lovers were swarming the entry area, anxious to see the attractions of Chhatbir Zoo. We booked a battery operated ferry vehicle for Whole trip in the Chhatbir zoo Zirakpur and they give us pink bands to wear on our Wrist.

Prices for Battery operated ferry vehicle is :

Rs. 50 for per person (Adult)

Rs. 25 for children above the age of 3 years

We all 5 sit in the ferry vehicle and I closely feel fresh air in the zoo. Vehicle drop us on the first stop which is Reptile house. The many snake species, such as the beautiful Indian Python and the intimidating King Cobra, captivated us. We were a little scared as well as in awe of these creatures up close.

We next proceeded to the Bird Aviary, a vast cage that was home to a wide variety of bird species. The lively environment was created by the beautiful chirping and the brilliant colours. The  school children had fun attempting to identify various birds from the aviary’s information boards that were positioned throughout.

Crocodiles are lying down that they are dead. The zoo has almost all the water animals, snakes and other creatures. The Chhatbir zoo has different apartments for different animals, like; Monkeys, Tigers, Elephants, Beers, hippopotamus, Zebras with information Board. All I want to say that Chhatbir Zoo has almost all the animals in the Zoo. But we were see some of them because animals are sleeping and not looked outside because of the heat of sun.

Lion Safari jeep:

The best part of this Zoo that this if fully covered with the Forest. And I suddenly look a safari jeep. Which is fully covered with steel but  we can see full view of the outside jeep. I asked a lady about this jeep , then she tell me that this jeep will go in the other part of Zoo where tigers and lions are open in the jungle. Our first reaction is wow! We purchased tickets for safari jeep. Safari jeep tickets are more expensive than the entrance tickets of Chhatbir Zoo. And we stand in the que of safari jeep, waiting for our turn.

One jeep come and took us in the jungle. On the lovely roads of jungle I see many peacocks dancing and singing their own songs . one peacock suddenly come in front of our jeep and dancing for at least 4-5 minutes and driver stops jeep there and all were shooting video of that peacock. And it gave peace to soul of mine. About 200 hundred dears  freely running in the jungle. Now it is turn for lions, only one lion we see in this jungle jeep was parked very close to that lion. The Driver warned  that not open the door or not to do any wild activity which disturb the peace of lion or the jungle. Finally we are outside from the open Zoo.

The Chhatbir Zoo is Amazing Wildlife Tourist Attraction in the Zirakpur/ Chandigarh. The dinosaur Park is new developed in the Zoo, Which is most attractive in the Chhatbir Zoo. This park makes My Trip to Chhatbir Zoo Zirakpur-Chandigarh-India very memorable. In this park Dinosaurs are acts like original or live dinosaurs. They were moving their body and roaring like live Dinosaurs. Some of children were scary and some of them enjoying , clicking pictures or making videos ,reels.

Food Hub:

We all enjoying a lot in this trip and click many pictures. And we were very hungry, we all sit in the ferry vehicle and took us to the canteen of the Zoo. Zoo has only one canteen and we ordered sandwiches, trust me guys taste is not good. This is only saddest thing in my Trip to Chhatbir Zoo Zirakpur-Chandigarh-India. Only my point of view food is not good there otherwise it is amazing.

Tips To visiting Chhatbir Zoo;

• Stay hydrated
• Wear comfortable clothes
• Go there early in the morning or late afternoon
• Don’t feed animals
• Go in the month of November to February to see all animals outside
